Ah, fish sticks. I loved the frozen ones when I was a kid. And now I’m sold on a totally simple fresh fish stick. I also found out it’s kid friendly.
– Bread crumbs and corn flakes, ground up in the food processor
– Garlic salt, paprika, Old Bay, ground pepper and a few pinches of sugar all mixed in the crumbs
– Talapia tossed in flour, dredged in egg wash then coated in bread crumb mixture
– 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes, depending on thickness and how crispy you want them.
I gave them a spritz of Pam (olive oil) spray to help them brown a bit.
A little lemon juice when they come out of the oven. Fresh cocktail sauce and a salad. Good flavor, very light and I’m thinking pretty healthy. Not bad!
Best of all, the girls helped get everything together and had made a decision the other night they both liked the sound of this recipe. And it turns out, both said the fish sticks were really good. Cool deal.
